Ottawa Bus Tour – “The Welsh Connection”
This year’s tour promises to be fascinating – definitely ‘not to be missed’. You will see many of the important historic sights of Ottawa but with special emphasis on Welsh settlers, personalities and connections. It will include a stop to tour Rideau Hall, official residence of Canada’s Governors General, two of whom have interesting Welsh connections.
The tour material has been extensively researched by David Jeanes, past president of Heritage Ottawa and a member of the Ottawa Welsh Society executive, whose family came from South Wales and who has spent much time throughout Wales learning about his roots. David will be our guide and he is sure to impart a wealth of information about the important role the Welsh have played in the history of Ottawa.
The tour will depart from the hotel at 9:30 a.m. sharp and will end at 12:30p.m. We ask that you meet in the lobby of the hotel at 9:15 a.m. so we can depart promptly. Tickets for the tour are $25 each and non-refundable. Please order when registering. Note that space is limited according to the capacity of the bus and available on a first come first served basis so order early to avoid disappointment!
