For the uninitiated, Noson Lawen translates as “Merry Night” and is a longstanding Welsh tradition, historically comprised of singing, dancing and recitation, as well as the playing of the harp.
Our Nosen Lawen embodies that spirit and all are encouraged to come up and show off their talents on the stage of the Kroehler Room. What about you? Would you like to share a song you love to sing, or perhaps, that piano piece you’ve been practicing all year? Funny stories are always welcome, too. Have you read something hilarious, lately? Bring it along to share with everyone.
Our musical guests from Wales often graciously share their talents on the Noson Lawen stage, so be sure to come and enjoy. After the show, we will continue with the Cymdeithasu or Afterglow, a time to visit, have a drink, and sing together around the piano.
All ages are welcome to perform. Although spontaneous performers are welcomed to the stage as time permits, our MC’s would love to know about your talents in advance. Please send an email describing what you would like to do to nosonlawen@ontariowelshfestival.ca. Performances are generally limited to five minutes.
Admission is included with your Festival registration.
